This study explores the effectiveness of role-playing as a pedagogical tool to enhance communication skills among language learners. Role-playing involves learners acting out real-life scenarios in a controlled setting, which provides a dynamic environment for practicing language skills in context. By immersing students in practical and relatable situations, role-playing helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, making language learning more interactive and relevant. A mixed-methods approach was employed to assess the effectiveness of role-playing in enhancing communication skills, combining quantitative pre- and post-tests of language proficiency with qualitative feedback from participants. The findings indicate that students who participated in role-playing activities showed significant improvement in verbal fluency, vocabulary retention, and situational adaptability. Additionally, qualitative data from surveys and focus groups revealed that learners felt more comfortable and motivated to speak, especially when assuming a character role that reduced their fear of making mistakes.
